The EU Sixth Framework Programme funded CO2ReMoVe project is carried out by a consortium of industrial, research and service organisations. Through extensive R&D into monitoring, performance assessment and verification at a number of industrial-scale and pilot-scale storage sites, the project aims at developing the technology to assure long term reliability and safety of geological CO2 storage. The Summer School organised by the CO2ReMoVe consortium will aim to present the most recent findings of the research carried out in the project as follows:
- General Overview – Why CCS
- Geological storage environments
- Storage reservoir characterisation
- CO2 storage performance modelling
- CO2 storage site monitoring
- Performance and risk assessment
- Hands on tutorials
The target group for the summer school is young scientists, e.g. MSc and PhD students, researchers at R&D institutions, regulators and NGOs. Up to 25 places will be reserved for full-time students with relevant background in engineering, geosciences and physical sciences whose applications will be considered for sponsorship towards travel and accommodation costs during the Sumer School.
Deadline for the receipt of complete applications is Monday 7th June 2010.
The maximum number of places available is 40. There is no cost associated with attendance to the Summer School, however, the organisers will evaluate each application based on background and relevance to the project objectives and notify the applicants of the allocation of places on 7th June.
